Last weekend, Sherrod joined Senator Mark Kelly and Ohioans across the state who are fired up to elect a senator who fights for working families. In Cincinnati, Sherrod and Senator Kelly met with veterans who are ready to hold Jon Husted accountable for voting to take away veterans’ health care and food assistance while giving billionaires the largest tax cut in American history. Sherrod and Senator Kelly also met with Ohioans in Cleveland who are fed up with skyrocketing costs under Jon Husted. 

Sherrod also addressed the Ohio Baptist State Convention this week, meeting with clergy and community leaders from across the state.

Today, Sherrod stopped by wards 12 and 13 in Cleveland, meeting with Ohioans who are tired of Jon Husted putting the interests of billionaires before hardworking Ohioans.

In The News:

• On Wednesday, the campaign launched our Women for Sherrod coalition. Jon Husted has made life harder for Ohio women, whether it’s raising the cost of groceries and health care or supporting an abortion ban with no exceptions, including for the life of the mother.
   
• Ohioans in Ironton called out Jon Husted for his record of jacking up utility prices as Ohioans are paying record highs for their electric bills. As a reminder, Husted was at the center of the largest bribery scheme in Ohio history, which delivered a billion dollar bailout to utility companies and caused Ohioans’ utility bills to rise over $600 per year.

What We’re Saying:

• Ohioans are fired up and ready to hold Jon Husted accountable for voting to raise costs. 
   
• Jon Husted has proven he does not care about the challenges Ohioans are facing, whether he is brushing off Ohioans by saying “what do you want me to do?” about skyrocketing costs, claiming struggling Ohioans are “not very experienced at navigating the real world,” or telling Ohioans to just “earn more” and calling their work ethic “broken.”
   
• Ohioans are working harder than ever, yet they’re seeing more money go out the door than coming in.
   
• It’s time for Husted to learn that affordability isn’t a “buzz word” like he says, it’s a crisis that he has only made worse.
