Dear Democratic Leaders,
Our candidates have been criss-crossing the state, connecting with Ohioans about the issues that matter most: lowering costs, taking on corruption, and getting our state back on track. That message is already resonating, and we’re continuing to build momentum heading into November. This week, we’re excited to highlight that message in a new video featuring some of our candidates – check it out here and share with your networks!
Now, let’s get into some more updates:
Save the Date!
Mark your calendars for our annual state dinner on Saturday, August 1, in Columbus. The team at the Ohio Democratic Party is gearing up to make this year’s state dinner even more successful than our 2025 sold-out event. More details will be available as we draw closer to the event – including our exciting special guests and keynote speaker. For now, I encourage anyone interested to buy their tickets early to this packed evening with Democrats from all over our great state.
Summit County FDR Awards Dinner
I was honored to join Summit County Democrats for their 26th Annual FDR Awards Dinner this week, where we recognized inspiring award winners and welcomed Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval to Summit County. Thank you to Summit County Chair Mark Derrig and the entire Summit Dems team for their hard work and leadership. The energy and turnout we’re already seeing in Summit County are a testament to that effort, and together we’ll keep building on this momentum all the way to November. If Democrats are going to win up and down the ballot this fall, it will be because of the work being done right now by county parties like Summit County across Ohio.
What we discussed: May County Chair Call
Thank you to all the county chairs who were able to join our ODP team on Thursday night and Friday afternoon. It was great to hear from House Democratic Leader Dani Isaacsohn about the state of play for our Ohio House races this fall and the work that is being done to break the GOP supermajority. Thank you to OhioWins organizing team members Andrew Presser and Deant’e Lamb for providing an update on the coordinated campaign as they hit the ground running on the work that lies ahead. Strong partnerships with our county parties will be crucial this November, and I’m grateful to be your partner in this fight.
OhioWins Weekend of Action
As a reminder, our first OhioWins Weekend of Action kicks off on Saturday, June 6th. This is a great opportunity to get involved with the coordinated campaign as they ramp up efforts quickly to connect with Ohioans of all political backgrounds in every corner of our state, which we know will be crucial to victory up and down the ballot this November. To get involved, go to https://www.mobilize.us/ohiowins/.
As we continue to double down on our efforts heading into the summer, I hope to see some of you out on the trail next weekend. Your support and leadership will be vital as we seize on the incredible opportunity we have to deliver historic wins and much needed change for Ohio families – from Washington to Columbus and in communities all across our state.
Take care,
Kathleen
